HAPPENINGS

Saturday. It was Walker’s morning, She and Olive went to Lonestar Tacos with Kristi and Grace, and then off to the WG Jones Park (south side).

I made some coffee and walked around the back yard, then took the recycling to the Woodlands center. I dropped into PGA Superstore, bought yet another shirt (chill out man) and also a putter (see previous note).

The putter is a Ping Tyne H, feels milled, but isn’t. It’s lighter than the milled Prime Tyne 4, but feels similar. Why do I need both? I don’t, take it back. I do really like the putter cover: diamond-stitched black leather. Maybe give it a try at the course first, then return it.

I also went into Precision Camera on my way back home to check out the Nikon 40mm F2. They didn’t have any in stock but I saw the SE edition on a ZF, it looked better than I thought it would, I don’t love the small glass, but would love a decent, light, autofocus for quick outings. I love the Voightlander 40mm F1.2 I have, but it’s manual focus. I mean, again, why do I need both? Need is a strong word, maybe just want. I should probably slim down the lens inventory. I think I could lose the 20mm, and maybe even the 28mm 1.4e, I really like the 24 1.4g. Think about it.

Joclyn, Jackson, Kristi, and Grace came over for dinner and drinks. Walker bought flank steaks (or cap, or skirt) and sweet potatoes. I added the SGT Butter and Espresso Rub. It was good, not life-changing, but good. A bit too chewy to be ideal but I think people liked it.

Also, GAMEDAY.

Western Michigan came to the Shoe and didn’t play well…

In the 2024 T-Shirt Derby (™), Red OHIO gets a victory.

Date Opponent Home/Away Shirt Us Them Result Record
08/31/24 Akron Zips Shoe Buckeye Donuts (1-0) 52 6 WIN 1-0
09/07/24 W.Michigan Broncos Shoe Red OHIO (1-0) 56 0 WIN 2-0

Highlights:

  • YARDS: OSU: 683 / WM: 99
  • Q JUDKINS: 9 for 108 / 2 TDs (he looks awesome)
  • TREVEYON: 10 for 66 / 2 TDs
  • PEOPLES: 10 for 51 / 1 TD
  • JEREMIAH: 5 for 119 / 1 TD
  • EGBUKA: 5 for 98

This may be one of my favorite Buckeye Teams. I think they can be a terryfying death-machine if things click. So fun.

Spent some time in the shop afterwards, did a little stretching, minor stuff with the kettle bell and clubs. I think exercise is the answer. Get it going, keep it up.

Alright, time for sleep.
