BUCKEYES
Well, the season is over, and I skipped entries for the final two games, losses to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship, and a loss to Miami in the College Football Playoff. SAD FACE! Our entire offense, but offensive line specifically, was butt cheeks in these last two games. And guess what positions we didn’t bring in any portal players for? You guessed it. Hartline announcing his departure for USF Head Coach after the skunkweasel game didn’t help. Losing 30 players to the portal didn’t help, but we brought in a real OC for next season, a real Special Teams coach, a Tight-ends coach, and some portal pieces. Brutal schedule for 2026, but cautiously optimistic.
CURRENT THOUGHTS
With the new year, finding myself really wanting to get back into shape, physically and mentally. Walker is on the same train I think. We haven’t been having the after work drinks much recently, it just hasn’t sounded all that good, and wasn’t really getting any return on it. I’ve been better about sleep recently, but still not all that great at going to bed early. This is a high priority for me now. (though RIGHT now it’s 10:38pm and I’m writing this post so I should probably read this sentence again).
Goals:
- Workout, Move, Walk, Be Outside
- Eat Less, Eat Better
- Sleep More
- Hydrate
AI
This field is changing RAPIDLY. I spent days trying to get OpenClaw working through Cloudflare, just an exercise in frustration really. I thought about getting a Mac Mini for it, but no. Played with Digital Ocean, but think I need $24/month for it, so no. Discovered Claude Code and has been really fun to play with. I rebuilt the WhatsGoingOn.now page with it, moved it to Netlify, and I dig the workflow, though not the credits BS that is Netlify.
I also used the Claude Chrome Extension to help spiffy up the home page here, and fix the dark mode setting. Worked pretty well.
In general, I don’t think the world is prepared for the mass unemployment that we’ll see due to AI, but it’s an incredible time.
