MOM

I took my Mom into the ER on Wednesday 6/20, since she hasn’t been able to get up by herself, or walk without pain. Coupled with the memory issues, the incontinence, it’s been a lot to deal with. I need some help here, and I think we hit a tipping point where it’s more care than I can give her.

She spent 24 hours or so in the ER, and was transferred upstairs to a room in the hospital. They did an ultrasound on her legs, a CT scan of the chest and legs, XRays to both feet and left wrist. The XRays were negative (good!), the CT Scan was good, but the ultrasound found some arterial blockage in the right leg, but the vascular Dr said that this wouldn’t present in the pain she was feeling, and his opinion was that the pain was musculoskeletal in nature. He recommended PT/OT and recommended transfer to a rehab facility.

She was transferred to Exalt Health in Conroe for an 8-day stay where she did two PT/OT sessions a day. She is due to be discharged today (Sunday, 6/29/25).

We will have a nurse come by the house on Tuesday for an evaluation, and then a likely once a week visit for 30 minutes to check vitals etc…

PT/OT will come by 2x a week (?) for some exercises and therapy.

I will work on finding her a place at a nearby facility where she can get skilled care and be comfortable.
